Planning You Honeymoon
You may want to spend your honeymoon in Britain but more likely
you will be looking forward to escaping to the sun for a week.
This is normally a trip of a life time so make sure you plan and book your honeymoon well in advance.
Something couples sometimes forget to do is to make arrangements with someone to collect their wedding day clothes as suitcase space is properly limited.
Remember that if you are not going away on the night of the wedding you may want to book a local hotel
and it maybe a good idea to stay at a different hotel than where your reception was held, this gives you a feeling of privacy, however some hotels may offer you a discount on your room if your reception is being held there so the choice is yours.
The other thing to consider is if you are leaving for your honeymoon the next day you may want to book a hotel near the airport.
Booking your honeymoon and destination requires careful though, first which date is more important the wedding or the honeymoon?
Does the honeymoon need to follow the wedding or are you happy to wait a while?
You need to consider these issues due to holiday seasons and weather. The busiest months for weddings are July and August
which unfortunately ties in nicely with the rainy season in the tropics and with the start of the tourist season in Europe.
Some couples have a short break rather than a honeymoon then at a later stage have their dream holiday/Honeymoon.
Keep within your budget. There is no point in travelling half way around the world just to be confined to your room due to lack of funds.
When arranging your honeymoon remember that all details will need surnames so a good idea is to use the bride's maiden name unless you have time to change all documents needed.
Another good tip on arranging your honeymoon is to let the travel agent know its your honeymoon.
They may be able to upgrade you or at least give you a free bottle of bubbly.
As with all travel plans make sure you have insurance and medical protection and those all important vaccinations.
