Luggage Regulations for Commercial Air Travel
The budget airlines are known for their policy of charging
passengers extra fees at the gate if their luggage exceeds the
baggage allocation by weight or size.
In fact all airlines including British Airways will charge extra
so it is important to ensure that your luggage falls within the
permitted limits and in particular that your carry-on hand
luggage fits within the cabin space available.
To test this there are frames at airports within which your
carry on luggage must fit.
The permitted dimensions are as follows:
